Atlantic Sapphire’s first 500k salmon in Florida RAS move

Atlantic Sapphire has passed another important yard marker on its way to reaching the end zone of becoming North America’s largest land-based grower of Atlantic salmon, moving some 500,000 fish from mostly fresh water smolt tanks to salt water tanks at its 160-acre property in Homestead, Florida, the company confirmed on Thursday.

The Norwegian company’s first harvest of its Florida-raised salmon is on track for early to mid 2020 with fish hitting the US market by June, spokesperson Lola Navarro told Undercurrent News on Thursday.
