The batteries that can save €200,000 per salmon production cycle

Norwegian fish farming company Kvarøy is in line to save up to €200,000 per production cycle, thanks to the installation of a bank of specialist storage batteries in its feed barges.

The batteries, which have been recently installed at a salmon site off the island of Selsøyvær, are projected to reduce the use of diesel generators by up to 60 percent.

The energy storage system, developed by Tesvolt, has a total storage capacity of 158 kilowatt hours (kWh) and have brought the diesel generators’ operating time down from...................................................................
