Cermaq denies ISA emergency at Chilean site,

Norwegian salmon farmer Cermaq Group said the early detection of the infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus at one of its farms in Chile avoided a "sanitary emergency", as "no mortality was associated with the presence of the virus".

"During a routine sampling, Cermaq Chile detected the presence of the ISA virus at the farming site Rowlet 750, in the Aysen region,"  Francisco Miranda, managing director of Cermaq Chile, told Undercurrent News by email.

"The type of virus has not yet been confirmed and we are awaiting test results from a third party......................................................
