Fish farm concept firms lose their appeals

Two Norwegian companies have lost their appeals against the rejection of development permits for novel salmon farms.

Osland Aquaculture had applied for six permits for its “Rock-solid” concept, a cylindrical concrete vessel placed directly on the seabed. Foundations of the tank could be adapted to both a soft and hard bottom.
