A Greek consortium has signed a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) for 10,000 metric tons of seabass and sea bream farms, which are being sold by two large investment firms in order to get a separate merger of the country’s three largest players over the line, sources told Undercurrent News.

The Greek deal -- led by Bitsakos Aquaculture, owned by investment firm Diorasis International, and Kefolania Fisheries -- could mean European Commission (EC) approval for AMERRA Capital Management and Mubadala Investment Company’s plan to merge Andromeda Seafood with Nireus Aquaculture and Selonda Aquaculture.

The Diorasis-led bid beat Canada’s Cooke, which owns Spanish bass and bream farmer Cumarex, in a sale..........................................................
