Major farmed finfish species to smash 40m metric tons

Global farmed finfish production is forecast to increase by 6% in 2020, continuing the steady rise in volume and prices witnessed over the past decade, according to a survey conducted by the Global Outlook on Aquaculture Leadership (GOAL) conference.

Conducted by a team led by aquaculture specialist Ragnar Tveteras, from the University of Stavanger in Norway, the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) survey took in responses from key producing nations regarding current production volumes and prices, as well as forecasts for the next two to three years.

According to his presentation, the production of species included in the survey is predicted to reach 41 million.....................................................
