New paper encourages offshore, RAS investments

More land-based and off-shore finfish and shellfish and seaweed aquaculture is the answer to feeding the world’s growing population, suggest The Nature Conservancy, an Arlington, Virginia-based conservation group, and Encourage Capital, a New York City-based impact investment firm, in a new 163-page paper.

The global aquaculture sector is already valued at $243.5 billion, and it’s growing at a 6% annual rate, but more capital is going to be needed, reports Fast Company in an article about the paper.
