NFI, processor groups ask Trump to keep seafood out

Three major US seafood industry groups have asked the administration of Donald Trump not to add Chinese shrimp and crawfish to its tariff list, fearing a backlash on US lobster, groundfish and salmon exports.

In separate letters sent earlier this month, the National Fisheries Institute (NFI), the Pacific Seafood Processors Association (PSPA), and the At-sea Processors Association (ASPA), all asked the office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) to show restraint when choosing new Chinese imports to be targeted for tariffs..............................................
