NZ King Salmon plans to set up submersible pens

New Zealand King Salmon has expressed its intentions to farm salmon in Cook Strait by using huge submersible pens, a project that, according to the firm, could be a game-changer for the salmon industry.

The Nelson-based company is looking into submersible technology being developed in Norway as a path to expansion and despite its wild reputation, Cook Strait could be the perfect mooring site.
