NZ targets nearly $2bn aquaculture sector by 2035

The New Zealand government has laid out its ambitious plans for the country's aquaculture sector, which it plans to "streamline" into one of its largest industries, reports Stuff.

Fisheries minister Stuart Nash reportedly told attendees at the New Zealand Aquaculture Conference in Blenheim on Sept. 18 that the government planned to grow the aquaculture sector from its current level of NZD 600 million to NZD 3 billion ($1.9bn) by 2025.
