Ocean Hugger races to meet demand for new plant-based eel alternative

Ocean Hugger Foods proudly introduced the second of its plant-based seafood alternative products – a freshwater eel alternative made out of eggplant – at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show, in Chicago, Illinois, and the Dot Foods Innovations conference, in St. Louis, Missouri, last month.

But when Undercurrent News asked where someone could find the product this week, CEO and co-founder David Benzaquen laughed.
