‘Only way is up’ for Scottish salmon prices; Norway’s are up, too

UK salmon buyers are feeling the pinch of a rapid increase in Scottish and Norwegian salmon spot prices, two sources told Undercurrent News.

One source, buying small salmon, sized 2-3 kilograms, said that in week 10 (commencing March 4) prices had, as expected, surpassed £6.00 per kilogram ($7.82). His processing firm had paid £6.00-£6.15/kg that week................................................

Norwegian salmon delivered to the UK was around the same price levels, both sources said.
