Protracted US-China spat to forever alter tilapia trade

China sells a colossal amount of tilapia to the United States, but there is every reason to believe that a protracted trade dispute between the two countries will set off a chain reaction of events that will fundamentally alter the industry.

The US imported 112,563 metric tons of tilapia fillets in 2018, according to the Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP), based on US Census bureau trade data.

That was followed by pangasius with 92,845t. Nothing else comes close to these volumes on the value side of...........................................................
