Rising salmon sales in the Middle East nothing to snort at

Salmon sales to the Middle East are on the up, amid a healthy eating drive and as foreign workers flock to fast-growing cities like Dubai, industry sources told Undercurrent News.

In the five years to 2017, the Middle East's salmon imports grew by a compound annual growth of 10%, according to trade data from International Trade Center (ITC), to some 37,962 metric tons in 2017.

These figures include imports of whole, fresh salmon, smoked salmon, salmon fillets and whole, frozen salmon................................................................
