Rock slide blocks Fraser River salmon migration

Sockeye and pink salmon migrating upstream of British Columbia, Canada's Fraser River have been blocked for now by a rockslide on a narrow stretch of the river that's created a blockage and five-meter waterfall.

According to a statement from the Pacific Salmon Commission's Fraser River Panel, the blockage occurred on June 23 in a section of the river known as Big Bar.
