Russia sets ambitious aquaculture production targets


The adjusted long-term strategy for aquaculture development in Russia stipulated that by 2030 the country will annually produce 700,000 tonnes of commercial production at the fish farms, stated Ilya Shestakov, the head of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency earlier this year, reports Vladislav Vorotnikov

By comparison, in 2016 the output of Russian fish farms came to 174,000 tonnes of commercial production, Ilya Shestakov said, referring to the official statistical data.
