SBC, Mitsubishi to launch large algae farm in Malaysia

One of Southeast Asia’s largest outdoor seaweed farms is set to launch in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in August with the help of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation, Algae World News reports.

The facility, which is expected to yield up to 60 metric tons per hectare of dried, indigenous strains of algal biomass per year, is being built by the Sarawak Biodiversity Center in the Semengohh area.
