Strong heatwave causes mortality in aquaculture farms


The heat wave sweeping South Korea this summer is affecting sea temperatures, which has caused damage in fish farms and led to an increase in fish mortality.

Official statistics reveal that at least five fish farms on the southern island of Jeju reported damage of at least 69,000 fish deaths, while six fish farms in North Gyeongsang Province reported the loss of 36,000 fish.
